Cost of traveling in Langkawi

🏠 Accommodation

You can find all kinds of accommodation around the island, from budget-friendly to luxury hotels.

Budget travelers can expect to spend around 10 to 30 € per night for a hostel or budget hotel, while mid-range options may range from 40 to 80 € per night.

Luxury hotels and resorts can cost upwards of 100 € per night or more.

🚍 Transportation

In Malaysia, there is a well-developed transportation system that includes buses, trains, and taxis. Buses offer the most affordable option and connect the major cities.

However, on the islands, there is no adequate public transportation, so it’s not advisable to rely on it for local travel. The best and cheapest solution is to rent a motorbike, which typically costs around 10 € per day. This way, you can easily explore the island and its beautiful sights.

🍽️ Food and dining

There are plenty of affordable dining options here.

Food courts offer inexpensive local dishes starting from as little as 2 to 5 € per meal.

Mid-range restaurants may cost around 10 to 20 € per meal.

I highly recommend eating at a street food market.

🏰 Activities

We find that Malaysia is so affordable considering the activities.

All the temples are mostly free of charge to visit, but if you're planning to take a tour, it can cost 5-20 € per person.
